Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. In a relationship, we need to feel that our partners are there for us, that they support us, that we can turn to them in moments of desperation and need. If we feel as though we can't, then it's an immediate red flag. How is anyone supposed to feel comfortable in a partnership if they can't even come to their partner in times of need? It's ingrained in the term 'partnership' that it's two people working together, as partners.
In this Reddit thread, the original poster (OP) is a woman who lacks that feeling of security with her partner. In times of trouble, he turns out to be absent. Their daughter was in a car accident, and getting a car from a hospital is jarring enough, but to lack the support of your husband is another thing. When she meets with the doctors to talk about her health and emergency surgery, the husband decides it's a perfect time to take a nap in the car. I would be angry if I were her, too.
