Becoming a new mother is a special, one-of-a-kind experience. It's the kind of feeling when you didn't really know what you were missing before you had your child, but you can't even imagine life without them once they're born. This type of excitement doesn't really wear off—your love transforms and transcends all that you thought was possible.

Unfortunately, not everyone can match the same energy as you—even family. At the end of the day, you can tell yourself that all you need is your baby (and your baby, you), but there's nothing that can patch the hole in your heart when someone close to you couldn't care less about the new life you brought into the world.

In this next story, a woman is struggling to congratulate her sister after she announces her pregnancy.
