How much did Friends affect your expectations for adult life, and how badly did it hit you when you realized that your life was going to look nothing like theirs?
A few months ago I turned 26, which is the age most of the characters in Friends are at the beginning of the show. That means that I am finally at the age where I can compare myself to them. Mostly, I focus on my career, financial state, relationship status, and of course, my friends. Because each friend in the show is in a completely different stage in life, you can always find someone you can identify with – If you know nothing about what you want to do in your career, then you're season 1 Rachel, if you just got out of a long-term relationship, you're season 1 Ross, and if you can't decide on what you are going to have for lunch today, then you're 100% Joey.
The only thing I can't identify with the fellas of Friends is actually having a group of friends I can hang out with all day, every day. That is the most unrealistic part of Friends if you ask me.
What is also unrealistic, is how funny this week's collection of Friends memes is, so make sure to scroll through them all. After you are done, click here for a silly collection of random relatable memes.
