Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. Food allergies, restrictions, and diets are all the rage these days. From gluten-free and vegan, to nut allergies, people are coming up with new food restrictions every day. I even met a woman once who said she couldn't eat garlic. People will come up with some wild things, and I really wonder what possesses them to want a food restriction. What's even more surprising, is how the craze has traveled down to the minds of children as well.
This brings us to the Reddit thread. In this story, the original poster (OP) is a woman whose son is in elementary school. As part of their voluntary parent participation, they're welcome to bring in snacks for the other students to enjoy. Now, back in my day, if a kid had a food allergy, it was up to their parents to provide the specific foods they could eat, not the responsibility of other parents, nor did it mean everyone should be deprived of said food. But I guess times have changed, and if one student has a legitimate allergy, or if they're just a picky eater, the rest of the students have to suffer on their behalf.
