Welcome, moms and dads of the internet. Another Christmas has come and gone, but the holidays are not yet over. We are in the strange limbo between Xmas and New Year's, wherein in time does not exist and the exact date, day of the week, and time of day are mere suggestions that ultimately meld together in a sugar cookie-fueled jumble. The kids are still hyped about their new toys, likely busy building Legos or testing out the controls on their newest console. Parents can take it easy and sip on some eggnog to help get them through all of the family drama that the holidays seem to inevitably bring. However, well-seasoned parents know that this is just the calm before the storm. Post-New Year's kids will be much more difficult to handle as the novelty of their gifts wears off and they start getting antsy about going back to school or day care.     Honestly, if my kid doesn't get cast as the most random inanimate object in the school play, I'm rioting. I won't have any of this leading role nonsense. I want Shrub #5.
