Wife demands she and husband move after running into his ex in their neighborhood, he refuses, sparking heated debate about insecurities

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. It's usually not fun running into an ex. Most people don't have the best relationships with their exes; hard feelings can be brought up, and when you least expect it you can be shot back into the past, and be reminded of times you didn't want to remember. This isn't always the case, of course, but for a lot of people an ex can hold a lot of weight that they don't want to carry. Not only can it be difficult for the person, but it can also create issues if you run into an ex while you're with your current partner, which is exactly what happens in this story. 

The protagonist tells how he dated his ex for all of high school and college, so nine years in total. He's now married, and the past is behind him, but it isn't behind his wife. After running into his ex together in their neighborhood, her insecurities flare up when the ex tells them she moved into the community as well.
