Finding the balance between being a parent and maintaining friendships you had before having a baby is a struggle every parent goes through. On one hand, your entire life is flipped upside down, you can barely even tell the difference between day and night, and you don't sleep. Basically, your entire life revolves around that baby and you (supposedly) love it.

On the other hand, you can't help but feel sad that you have to say goodbye to your old life, especially when it comes to your friends. Those without children of their own will eventually come to resent you for your inability to keep in touch or prioritize your friendship over your child. And as much as you may try to keep the friendship alive, it will never be the same as it was before.

This can lead you to make decisions you might regret later, like bringing your child along to social events they have no business attending, like a friend's adult-only birthday party.
