Being in a committed relationship means you have to be there for each other through the highs and the lows, for better or for worse. You support each other through everything, and do whatever you can to ease their experience and help them through stressful times.

As someone who has been in a long and committed relationship for the past 6 years, I can tell you that the two main struggles my partner and I find help each other through are family and work-related issues. Every once in a while, one of us will experience a crisis regarding one of those two things, and it's up to the other to help navigate through that and work it out.

Afterwards, it's as important to show our gratitude for all the help and support we got from our significant other. Even though we are well into our long-term relationship, we still appreciate everything the other does for us. If one refuses to recognise all the support they get from the other, what is even the point?

The girlfriend in this story is currently struggling with her boyfriend's lack of appreciation. After supporting him for months while he was pursuing a promotion at work, he finally got it, and decided to throw a party in celebration. During the party, he made a speech about his journey, but instead of thanking his girlfriend for all her help, he opted to make embarrassing jokes about her in front of all their loved ones.
