They say that hindisght is 20/20. When you're in the heat of the moment, it's hard to see red flags in relationships. You might brush them off because you are unable to see the bigger picture, or you might gaslight yourself into believing that the bad signs you're picking up on are not that big of a deal. Plus, if the bad experiences that you are having with someone are punctuated by the occasional good times, it can be hard not to cling to those highs. This applies to both romantic and platonic relationships.

In our story today, a young woman reflects on her relationship with her closest friend. She has come to realize, after years of being being her number one cheerleader, that she never did the same for her. In fact, it seems that her "best friend" was always there to keep her from fully realizing her success and happiness.
