It's so disrespectful to just throw the leftover food away if she doesn't like it. If she takes a bite out and it isn't her thing, she could just store it in a tupperware or something instead of wasting it!

His friends' stance that he is making her, an adult capable of cooking, go hungry is absolutely wild. They seem determined to blame him for whatever reason.

30-year-old boyfriend refuses to cook for his girlfriend after finding her leftovers in the trash again, friends accuse him of starving her: “She can cook for herself”
Every couple has a different way of splitting up cooking duties. If only one partner works, it makes sense that the one that stays at home would cook more often. Still, it's a recipe for resentment if the task of cooking falls on the same person for every single meal. For couples where both partners are in the workforce, there has to be a more even split when it comes to cooking. In my relationship, we fend for ourselves all day, and at dinner time, we actually try to cook quick and easy meals together. It's pretty rare for just one of us to do the cooking alone.
In our story today, a couple seems to have a good thing going for them when it comes to cooking. However, when our protagonist starts finding his leftovers in the trash instead of tupperwares when his girlfriend doesn't like the food, he refuses to feed her anymore. Seems reasonable to me, but his friends accuse him of "starving" her.
