While Game of Thrones isn't really a period piece, its design is based off of medieval Europe, so seeing these two with phones is pretty jarring. And that's not even touching on the fact that Cersei and Tyrion Lannister would never be that jolly within such a close proximity of each other.

22 Celebrity Snapshots of Stars Doing Totally Normal, Modern Things in Period Piece Costumes
Movies take a long, long time to make. Your favorite hour and a half drama likely took a couple of months to film, and several more to edit together in post-production in order to bring you a fully immersive experience. When we hear the titles of famous movies, we often think of their directors, the leading actors, and maybe even the musician behind the score. However, there is so much more to bringing a production to life.
When it comes to period dramas, there is an added element of difficulty for costume and set designers to get the details as historically accurate as possible. While it's true that most audiences wouldn't really know the difference between 13th and 14th century set details, it's important to keep things consistent and to avoid any egregious anachronisms. However, when the camera stops rolling, and our favorite actors get a moment to break character and check their phones, it makes for some pretty funny snapshots!
