Hey internet freaks. Let's face it, these days anyone is lucky to have a job at all, much less one that pays well. It certainly isn't the 80s anymore, where you could get decent paying full time job off the street, no degree, no education or training, and no experience. Anyone was willing to hire you, give you promotions, pay you well, until you were suddenly manager of the company yourself. "Work from the ground up," is what our parents told us, and it's what they experienced. You could even just get loans to open your own business those days, and chances are that you were going to have a successful business. 

These days? You're lucky to get an low paying entry level job in a field you have a Master's degree in, 3 years experience on the job, and speaking 5 languages. In the story below, the protagonist is unemployed. His girlfriend isn't too happy about it, who would be happy with that? But understandably, times have changed.
