"I would never let a child go hungry in my house": 28-year-old brother caters to sister's picky eater children, she accuses him of undermining her parenting for refusing to let kids go without food

North American kids are often associated with picky eaters. But the truth is, kids all around the globe have food aversions; they're just not eating chicken nuggets and mac n' cheese. Most picky eaters have issues with the taste and texture of food; they also prefer foods that consistently taste the same. They don't want to be "surprised." That's why they tend to gravitate towards plain carbs and mild cheeses. Asian picky eaters stick to rice, noodles, and eggs; South American kids go for tortillas, beans, and cheese; European children like buttered pasta, bread, and cheese; picky Indian kiddos eat plain roti, potatoes, and dal without added spices.

In our story today, a pair of picky eater kids find solace at their uncle's house. Instead of making them go hungry as punishment for not finishing everything on their plate, he makes sure to cook things that he knows they will like. Unfortunately, their mom thinks that our protagonist is coddling her kids and undermining her efforts to get them to expand their palette.
