Daughter refuses to share her streaming services with her entitled dad after he has a meltdown when she changes her Disney+ password without his permission: "He thinks I did it out of spite"

Netflix has really come a long way. I remember when I'd browse through the online catalogue and make a list of DVDs I wanted my aunt to order for me through their website. When the site switched to streaming, it opened up a whole new world. My parents and I would get into heated arguments when our viewing histories would get all jumbled up. Thankfully, Netflix soon introduced different profiles to fix that problem. Nowadays, everyone has their own user under the same account — parents, siblings, and even exes.

In our story today, a young, independent woman makes the decision to break away from her family's group streaming service plan. Her dad liked to toy with her over password changes, so she's faring much better even if she has to pay for it on her own. When she changes the password to her Disney+ account after seeing multiple logins in cities she's never been to, she changes her password. Turns out dad was freeloading off of her account, and he's not happy to be on the receiving end of a sudden password change.

    The only thing that you did wrong was give him notice of your intention and justified it to him. Delete the account, and refuse to discuss it. Make sure that he can't reinstate it under your name or credit card.
