"Wheely Kaylee"

"So, she is permanently paralyzed and it's complete. So I appreciate all the 'she's gonna run soon!' Unfortunately, no. She has what's called an uncoordinated gait. Because of involuntary reflexes, her brain to back leg connection is completely severed and this means that she can do what's called 'spinal walking,' which is sort of miraculous. It doesn't make sense that she's able to control her movements as well as she can. Normally, it only happens for small dogs with low centers of gravity. So she is a very special case.
Her trainer thinks it's insane that she can walk as well as she can. She does have her wheels that we'll always have to use for long walks. But she can get around the house and on short walks without them now that she can walk. She's just a super special girl!
What happened is that she slipped a disc: Her T12 T13 and this is what caused her to become paralyzed. She did get surgery
that had a 50% success rate, but she was not in that 50%, and that's okay! So she will be like this probably forever. I mean nothing is impossible, so maybe! She slipped a disc at the dog park while she was running, there was no major accident, it was just like a freak accident. We did not get her like this. It happened in February and you know what? It's been one of the greatest experiences of my life, I don't get sad about it anymore. I don't regret that this happened. I have just accepted it cause she clearly is a very happy girl regardless."

It's not easy to relearn how to walk after an injury, and it can even be painful. But Kaylee is working hard and never giving up, and neither will her pawrents. Sure, the doctors say she will never fully walk again, but her parents will walk her as much as she wants.
This pup's determination is inspiring tons of people online and pulling the heartstrings of more than just her parents and PT crew. Go Kyalee girl, go!
