  • Hello petty potatoes. If you want a good petty read I think you're gonna like this one.
  • Also I'm sorry its so long. Also English is not my first language so I'm sorry if something doesn't make sense.
  • My mother in law (let's call her Karen :) ) is a bit of a.... controling, entiteled byotch, who adores attention.
  • You know, the kind that always needs to be involved in everything and when she's not or when you don't pay attention to her she throws a tantrum?
  • My father in law divorced her when my husband (Let's call him Derek) was 10.
  • Derek and his mom were never close but we still told her about our engagement told her she would be invitied to the wedding (BIG MISTAKE).
  • When we told her this she was super excited and called us crying, saying that "Shes was excited to help us plan, our big day and to finally be part of Derek's life." I guess this was sweet but we never wanted her involved in our wedding planning or anything like that.
  • Anyway, during the wedding planning she kept putting her nose in to every single bit of the process.
  • Like one day, she demanded me to send her a picture of me in my wedding dress as soon as I bought it so she could wear something that matched the vibe to look "her best next to me" in pictures.

  • When she found out what the wedding scheme was gonna be (think whimsical fairy princess vibes, with all my bridesmaids wearing ligh pink dressses and a flower crown), she said that she didn't agree with the theme because she liked formal weddings better.
  • She kept doing these things for months. She commented on every detail like she was the bride trying to plan her wedding.
  • Honestly it seemed like she was trying to plan a wedding for herself instead of just helping us out.
  • The breaking point came when she texted me demanding a special menu for her because she was an "important guests".
  • I asked her what she meant and she said that she didn't think the menu that was being served for everyone else was good enough for her.
  • By the way were having a big wedding with around 200 guests and have a large variety of food to fit all dietary restrictions.
  • After that the stress of having Karen trying to control everything was really getting to me so I decided to talk to my best friend and MOH (Let's call her Megan) about it.
  • We have been best friends since we were 12 and She has always been there for me and viseversa.
  • Megan is super fun and petty queen. She said that since Karen wanted something special and different from everyone else, we should give her a HAPPY MEAL.
  • She said that since she was acting like such a kid trying to get all the attention it would be perfect for her.
  • After talking to Megan, I called Karen and told her that I was going to request a special meal to be served for her at the wedding and I could tell she was very pleased.

  • So fast forward to the wedding day. The wedding was absolutely beautiful in every way and everything went perfectly.
  • When dinner came, all the guests came to the buffet to get their food. However, I had told Karen that the chef would deliver her meal to her table.
  • Let's just say that when Karen saw the meal her face went through like 10 different emotions.
  • Then she asked the chef "Is this supposed to be a joke?!" The chef told her that she requested a special meal and asked if there was a problem.
  • After some arguing between Karen and the chef, she finally started eating her happy meal. I watched her munch on her cheeseburger, fries and apple slices from my table.
  • I could tell that the other people at her table were trying very hard not to laugh, and not gonna lie, so was I.
  • She seemed so annoyed! After that I just enjoyed my wedding which was so fun and wonderful.
  • Definetly best night of my life. Also, can you guys tell me if I was too harsh please?
