Senior feral tomcat had given up on life until he got rescued by a kind human who finally gave him hope for a different future
It is a known fact that stray cats live shorter lives than housecats. The dangers are greater, the food is more scarce, weather conditions are much more apparent when you don't have a warm blanket to hide under once it gets cold. Not many cats live to senior age on the streets. But some do. Of course, their chances of survival lower once they are older and a little slower, so it is up to us to help them. If you see a stray senior cat on the street, try to help if you can.

Students save strays despite no-pet policy on college campus, nurturing them for adoption while avoiding monthly inspections
Have you ever heard about a college student heist to save a litter of abandoned stray kittens who were found outside their dorms, malnourished, scared, and alone? Yeah, we neither. But guess what? You're about to hear this story, just like we did. All is courtesy of the Cat Distribution System, of course - the great rearranger of fate for feral felines to become spoiled house floofs. Just as nature intended. Every cat deserves a home. This is just a universal truth. We didn't invent it, but the CDS is the one mysterious organisation helping it stay as true as day - one adoption at a time.

Couple's cat brings over a charming chocolate-colored cat, they rescue him and find out he was abandoned by a shady breeder who didn't want him because he wasn't fertile enough
We think that all cats are beautiful, let's start with that. We have never had a single purebred cat in our house, and every cat that we have ever had has been the most beautiful cat in the world. But we can understand the appeal of rare and unique cats. Cats like the giant and meowjestic Maine Coons, or the extra fluffy Norwegian Forest cats. We're fascinated by them, and if we were ever chosen by one of them, we would be celebrating.

Litter of day-old kittens left at animal shelter struggling to survive, but post-partum rescue cat 'Acorn' adopts them without a paws of hesitation
Neonatal kittens are pawsitively challenging to care for. They need around-the-clock care for anything from frequent feeding to stimulation to help them go to the bathroom. It's exhausting without a mother cat. So when a litter of day-old kittens was left at this animal shelter, the employees weren't sure all of them would make it. All of their neonatal foster families were full, and they didn't have the resources needed to properly care for them. But, with a purrfeclty amazing twist of feline fate, 'Acorn' was brought to them as well. Acorn was post-partum, but without kittens. It was a match made in heaven.

Woman discovers kitten double-bagged in the trash, police find perpetrator's name in the garbage, and the criminal is arrested with justice served
So often, here at ICHC, we find ourselves coming across stories of people doing the worst things to cats. Of course, we try to focus on the positives - on the kitties that are rescued, all the sweet cats who get given a second chance. But it does happen, we do see the stories of people abandoning cats in need, of people throwing kittens on the streets to fend for themselves, and much worse. And as much as we celebrate the rescues, we can't say that there isn't a little part of us that wishes there was more, that wishes the culprits, the wrongdoers, the criminals would be found as well.

Concerned cat lover rallies community to save starving kitten stuck in a storm drain, healing his appetite and heart by saying yes to a lifetime together
If there's one thing we can't pawssibly resist, it's the sound of a cat in need. Please, don't call us superheroes; we just love cats that much. Our partner knows that if we're out somewhere and see a cat that needs a home, we're taking it to ours, no matter what we have to do to save them. Even if it means uprooting a storm drain with a pickup truck to save them. That's what happened in our story today, where after three days of meowing for help, a cat lover took this kitten's life into her own hands and rallied the community to save them.
