TikToker Tells Story of Letting an Elderly Man Steal Food From Her Work, Sparks Surprisingly Supportive Discussion

TikTok user @_…cait…_ recently posted a video of her acting out a situation she experienced when an elderly man was stealing food from the store she was working at. In the video, set to Bo Burnham's “Prolonged Eye Contact,” she explains that she saw the man stealing food, they made eye contact, then she remembered, “I don't get paid enough to care and that my manager let someone whip a bag of Bugles at my head earlier,” and then turned her head away as if she saw nothing. “It's not like they were a wealthy person. They were clearly struggling, and I hated my manager,” she wrote to a commenter.
