Ex dog handler cuts through traffic to save runaway dog that had evaded several hoomans trying to catch it after it got loose from dog sitter, rescuer says: ‘I will always abandon what I’m doing and run into traffic after a loose dog..’

Sometimes it is the people who you least expect to help that become the heroes of a situation. Much like the valet attendant in this story who ended up being the only person smart enough to save an escaped doggo.

It's true, this seemingly ordinary person was just hanging around, doing their job when all of a sudden they spot a mob of people running after something. After deducing that it was a dog that this mob was chasing, the attendant decided that they would use their expert dog handling skills to join the chase and corral the pupper before something happened.

This hero bobbed and weaved through dangerous traffic, all the while thinking where this doggo might be headed and how to head it off and capture it before it would be too late. Using the noises and visual cues around them, they soon made the save and returned the doggo to the negligent pet sitter who lost the dog in the first place. And in true hero fashion, this rescuer did not want a reward, they did not seek commendation. They were completely satisfied with the feeling that they helped a pupper get home.

You have got to wonder if this is how the idea for characters like Peter Parker and Clark Kent came around. A seemingly normal person who has a wealth of talent and experience doing something rather extraordinary even though that is not what they deal in currently. But when the universe calls upon them to step back into their heroic role, they are willing and ready to leap into action and save the day. If it is not the case then we are truly surprised by the serendipity of this encounter, and that such a knowledgeable and experienced helper would happen to be on hand.

Jheez, either this rescuer knows how to tell a really good story, or he is putting Ace Ventura Pet Detective to shame. This guy managed to instantly get into the headspace of this escaped dog, and use all the available clues around him in real time to make split second decisions that would ultimately lead him to capture this canine when no one else could. Tell us, what kind of valet employee do you know that has these kinds of abilities just ready to go whenever they might need them? We see a bright future in the pawlice for this rescuer.
