Viral TikTok Exposes Stalkers Slipping Bluetooth Trackers into Unsuspecting Women's Purses in NYC, Fear Ignites Within the Comments

New Yorkers are tough, but it's still absolutely terrifying to know someone is stalking you.

It started as a relatively normal day for NYC-based TikToker Emily Jozefowicz—she went to a doctor's appointment off of the famous 5th Ave., she went home, and then decided to pop out to grab some lunch. While she was out, she got a terrifying alert. It read, “Unknown Accessory Detected: This item has been moving with you for a while. The owner can see its location.” Already enough for anybody to get a little anxious over, but before Jozefowicz started panicking, she made sure it wasn't a device of her own or her boyfriend's that maybe just hadn't been registered yet.

Fear started taking over when she finally exhausted any possibility that she's familiar with this mystery device. Now being fully aware that she was being stalked, she quickly shut off her phone and ran home. She went through all over her pockets and her purse and low and behold she finds a Tile she had never seen before. A tile is a small metal square that uses bluetooth as a locating device—usually kept on small personal items like wallets or keys to find if lost.

NYC women watch until the end:

The entire predicament rightfully scared the crap out of her, which is why she decided to post the TikTok alerting women in the NYC area. The city is very busy, with huge crowds of people bumping into each other on the streets and trains—so anyone can slip something into a distracted women's bag or even pocket. Terrified viewers have flooded the comments thanking her, giving their own advice on how to stay safe, and even sharing similar stories of their own.

Many women, even in suburbs, are experiencing this scary stalking tactic.

Jozefowicz filed a police report and is feeling safer, but she will now be on extra high alert while she walks to and from her home—a terrible reality for most women everywhere.
