    We found this kitten walking on the side of the I-10 between Houston and San Antonio. He appears to be about 6 weeks old, and is very calm and cuddly. Any name suggestions?

    El Cato, since the I-10 goes past El Paso.
    Hitch, because he hitchhikes.
    Boo, because he came by surprise.
    Zoomie, because cars go zoom zoom zoom past the highway. And we're sure he also gets the zoomies from time to time.

    Amardella My BIL found a kitten on the freeway about 10 years ago. Grey tabby like that. He named the little guy Speedbump, but they call him Bumper.

    AwDuck I had friends that found a dog on the side of the road that had been hit by a car and lost use of his back legs. They took him to the vet, spent a small fortune to get him healthy and fitted with a set of wheels for his back end. They adopted him and named him Rod, the acronym for "ran over dog". Dark folks, good hearts.

    Amardella Healthcare workers in general have a fairly dark sense of humor. I come from a family with three generations of them. I think that pup is a pretty lucky little guy. His people probably love him to distraction.

  • That's a hilarious coincidence. Well, sorry, Kevin is already taken by the resident cat. What are the odds they'll receive a suggestion of a middle-aged man's name, but can't take it for this reason? Such a small world.

    sarajane59 I have a Walmart lot cat that came from California with it's owner. The little guy jumped out of the car and ran. We had the whole crew out looking for him, during which the owner left. He was caught, and after trying out two other homes, landed with me and his older brother Nicky. He is now Leo and the cutest buff orange zoomer I have ever had.

  • Excuse you, a Walmart Lot Cat is definitely a breed. Some other known cat breeds we love are: Trash Dweller, Park Roamer, Backalley Common Floof, Frontyard Screamer (usually screams until you let them in and adopt them for good).
