I used a faulty AI detector to avoid being expelled from college and am a teacher now.

To say it bluntly, the way the guy used AI was problematic. It wasn’t just helping with fact-checking some quotes or finding sources; it was downright rewriting everything. I struggle to think he might be a great teacher, judging by this, but all in all, he is probably just a mediocre one, and that’s far from terrible. If he continues to use AI like this to prepare his classes, his students might think the subject is boring or generic, and if the AI isn’t actively hallucinating, at least the information will be correct, and they’ll learn some things.

What concerns me the most is his own professional development, really, and with that, the development of all of us if we keep using AI for everything. How will we find genius again? Will it become something like ‘the best and most creative way of using LLMs’?
