While I (34f) was walking back home with Pongo (4.5m) yesterday, a very ill man leapt out from around the corner of a shed and tried to grab me.
  • 04
Pongo had it handled before I could even react. He snarled and lunged in a split second.
  • 05
The guy flew backward as though thrown through the air by a poltergeist. Pongo didn't bite- he didn't have to.
  • 06
The guy probably crapped his pants from the lunge and growl alone.
  • 07
The man then followed us, growling like an animal and beating on his chest, as I dragged my "attack poodle" away
  • 08
to safety. We got away safely and Pongo made sure to stay between me and the man the whole time.
  • 09
My dog is normally totally friendly with strangers-unless they run at me from behind or otherwise

physically ambush me. 99% of the time I'm his protector and he is my tiny baby...
  • 12
but that 1% of the time, he takes care of business.
  • 13
I'm honestly sad his reaction was necessary. But I'm grateful he was with me and I don't want to
  • 14
think of what might have happened if he hadn't been. I may not have "scary dog privilege" at first
  • 15
glance, but when someone tries something funny, suddenly I do.
  • 16
Thank you Pongo. And I'm sorry I rewarded your loyalty with a B-A-T-H.

ChazzyChaz4 Such a good boy. He earned extra snackies and pets. I'm glad you got away safely!
  • 18
Jade Tatsu I hope, if appropriate, you reported the potential attack to your local authorities. They may be interested in the moron.
  • 19
But how could you reward that with a BATH!!!! I hope there was copious bribes (rewards) with the bath!

danorc I agree, but they almost certainly know exactly who he is and what he does. Assuming they care, they bed to wait until he actually hurts someone AND be able to prove it before they can do anything.

The state of mental health care is a god in disgrace. Because this man doesn't have help, he's a wrecking ball putting everyone in danger (especially women).

Teichopsie ! Such a good boy My girls (3f, 4f) teamed up on a wild boar charging at my wife this one time and managed to scare it away (no serious

damage to either party) so looks like the spoos can and will effectively defend the pack even though it's not really their job.

Critical_Garbage_119 I'm so glad you and Pongo are safe. Last week our mini started barking uncontrollably in the late evening. We couldn't figure out why - we looked out the front window and saw nothing.
  • 25
I went to the front door and she was out of control. Looking out the small door window I saw the shape of a man slumped against our door. I didn't open the door but called 911.
  • 26
The police arrived quickly. I turned out to be a man who was on dr is and had collapsed. For some reason he happened to do so at our door. The police took him to the station to get him help.

I felt bad that we had been scolding our baby and trying to get her to stop barking but now we know to really pay attention. Take care of yourselves, that must have been very traumatic for you both.
