TikToker Posts a Funny Video of a Broken Waffle House Sign and Is Now Going Viral for Bringing the "Vine Vibe" Back

Remember the Vine days? When there was a home for people's dumbest yet most hilarious thoughts. Skits that were no longer than 5 or 10 seconds were providing the world with amazing laughter. Some Vine stars even hit it big after making videos on the app—like comedian Bo Burham and even super pop star Shawn Mendes.

TikTok is also an app that provides a platform to express whatever is on your mind in less than a few minutes. Yet, it has never really reached the ~vibe~ that Vine had. Vine was really a great place to escape from the anxieties of life and just have a laugh or see someone playing some cool music or something. TikTok, which is geared towards Gen Z, can get a little heavy at times. People go on there to rant, to cry, to just try way too hard to be cool. Of course, there's some up sides to TikTok as well, like all the fun dance-crazes and music mashups—and there are also lots of comedians posting funny things on the app.

But Vine was really the place for comedy, and TikToker @camhouck1 is bringing back that vibe.

“Welcome to awful house:”

The video is only five seconds long and the image quality is very poor—but it will definitely get you cracking a smile. Parked across the street from a Waffle House, the video is just a couple of friends in a silly goofy mood. The signage on the restaurant is broken and says “AFFL HOUSE… F U” The content creator points that out, unable to keep laughter from his voice, and BAM viral comedy sensation that feels just like the Vine days.

Viewers instantly point out in the comments that this is pure “Vine” vibe and they love it. One commenter even says, “this is the vine type content we’ve all been missing so much, thank you." Since posting, it has reach 1.6 million views and countless comments of its satisfying vine quality.

“F U:”

Other commenters are quick to point out how “on brand” this video is for Waffle House as well. The restaurant has its own emergency index and are so well prepared for disasters that it's even unofficially used by FEMA. A commenter pointed out that, “they don’t close if a literal hurricane tears the city down. A broken sign is the least of their worries.”

It's sincerely so dumb—stoner quality comedy. Yet it is so satisfying and hilarious. It's scratching that Vine itch that many TikTokers are just realizing they were needing to scratch.
