Unsuspecting Tourist in NYC Needs to Use the Bathroom, Pops Into the Church of Scientology, Goes Viral for What Happens

TikToker @.dimplesyrup recently shared a story of her experience finding out the hard way what the Church of Scientology is. The religion that is constantly criticized for being “cult-like” has a huge glass building in NYC's Time's Square. How can they afford that expensive location? The religion rakes in a lot of money from its followers. It has some well-known rich celebrities in the church, such as Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and even Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, though they left the church in 2015. 

According to this TikToker, she didn't really know much of Scientology. Maybe it's more of an American establishment, but either way, she was unsuspecting. She says she had won tickets to see the extremely popular music Hamilton. She went alone, and during the intermission between act 1 and 2 she went to use the restroom. When she got there, the line to pee was way too long. So she decided to pop out of the theater and see if she can find her luck finding another bathroom near by—"I was f*cking busting," she says. 

When she stepped out of the theater, as New Yorkers know, the church of Scientology is right across the street. 

Part 1

She decides to pop in and see if she can use the bathroom. When she walks in, a man at the front desk looks up at her with a very strange smile and asks how he can help her. She asked if there was a restroom she could use and he excitedly said yes. As she's walking down the glass hall of this glass building with this strange man escorting her, she sees everyone in their “prison-like” cubicles turn their heads to look at her and strangely smile. She's already feeling weird, but she finally makes it to the restroom. When she comes out she bumps into a man with a clipboard waiting for her. 

He asks her if she had some time to spare and before she could answer she saw there was another man approaching her from the other side. Now, she was feeling cornered and starting to panic. She tries to tell them she doesn't have time because she's in-between acts at Hamilton, but they apparently didn't know what that was (which is also a weird red flag). 

Part 2

The men start getting closer, so she panics and literally starts yelling in fear and running towards the door. She doesn't think she was being chased or anything, but she did not want to be in there for one second more. When she popped out of the church and was running across the street back to the theater, the doorman saw her coming out of there and looked at her with tons of concern. “His face said, ‘did you use the bathroom over there??' I just sort of looked at him like I've made a mistake…" 

She made it out unscathed and is not a part of Scientology, but many commenters warn her that the don't mess around over there and might threaten her just for posting this not viral story on TikTok.
