Senior pets always have a hard time getting adopted, but this senior pair has a happy story of their rescue.
Animal rescues always have some of the most difficulties getting their senior animals adopted. It's understandable because it's a lot of responsibility to adopt a senior animal. You have to take extra care of them, meaning any medical issues or other physical issues have to be addressed. And, arguably the hardest part, you have to come to terms with the reality that you won't get too much time on this earth with them. And some people just can't handle that kind of heartbreak. That's why when someone adopts a senior animal, it's a beautiful thing.
A human society located in central Arizona recently went viral for a bounded pair of senior cats they posted about on their TikTok. The couple were old, but still very affectionate and sweet. It broke all of the workers' hearts to see them spending their golden years in an animal rescue instead of a loving home. For this kitty pair, it wasn't just that they were senior animals, but they had to come as a pair—which is also something that creates a difficulty in getting rescue pets to be adopted.
They posted the video on TikTok in hopes it would encourage people to consider adopting senior animals from rescues—and boy did it help.
Luckily, the old couple got adopted only a couple weeks after the video was posted and are living out their retirement together in a warm and loving home. The update video shows them cuddling together by a fireplace and playing with their new toys. It's absolutely heartwarming to see the senior duo thriving like that. Viewers are also incandescently happy to see that these two kitties got the adoption story they deserved. “I am crying!!! Thank you for the update!!!! They deserve a sturdy roof with love!!!!” one TikToker said. “Stupendous news! So happy for them. Finally some good news today. Ty kind lady. Blessings to you. 🥰🥰,” another added.
Hopefully, the story of this senior bounded cat couple will help encourage many other good pet owners to adopt senior and/or bounded animals. Because though it is a bigger responsibility, it also comes with a bigger amount of love.
