She told that manager to take a good look in the mirror.

It's never easy to quit a job. You'd think if that job was mistreating you for some time, that would make it easier, but it's not. Unless you thrive on chaos, confrontation is usually something most people try to avoid—especially if you're trying to be professional about it.
TikToker @appleamsterdam_ recently shared a video of her making the phone call to quit her job at PetSmart. She is a law student and an athlete, so when she first started working there a few years ago her original manager knew her schedule would be sparse. She worked for years with no problem having to take off for certain bigger obligations. She tried to quit once and they begged her to stay, she got laid off during Covid but then asked to return, and she even won employee of the month once (though she never received the prize she was promised for it). However, they made a changed in management and the new manager was crap. She did not take the time to get to know the TikToker or understand why her schedule was the way it was and instead went straight to mistreating her.
This TikToker was not standing for it. After getting threatened with termination for not being able to have as many shifts as they'd like her to (even though she has always worked on a sparse schedule due to her school and sport obligations) she knew the end was near. She saw that she was no longer being scheduled and then eventually noticed she could no longer even login to her work database. All this, with no phone call or any sort of information.
She called her manager and let her have it—professionally, of course.
As she makes the phone call you can hear the adrenaline in her phone. It's difficult to keep your breath steady when you're approaching a confrontation like this and telling someone in the most professional way possible that they're a dick. “After working here for so long, I'm not going to get fired," she says to her now ex-manager. “So I quit. I hope you can take a good look in the mirror and realize what your employees need in a manager instead of the selfish view that you do have right now of what you need in your employees. Thank you.” And then this queen HANGS UP.
Claps all around for @appleamsterdam_, that was simply bada$$.
