Dry Ice Loophole Makes Mockery of Robotics Competition

There's no solution more compelling than those lazy "it's not stupid if it works" moments, even if they're technically against the rules. A low budget or DIY solution might make a judge mad, but you can't say that your solution wasn't effective. For another story of a stroke of lazy genius, here's a guy who needed a permit to build a garage so he just bought a van.

Twitter Users Compete Over Whose Dog Is The Cutest

Every dog owner has probably thought to themselves at some point: "my god, my dog is the cutest dog in the whole world." You're right, of course, to you, your dog is the cutest dog for real. A couple days ago, a twitter user called @verbalese decided to announce to the world that their dog is indeed the cutest dog, challenging other twitter users to come at them, and the rest... is history.

Countless people started responding to that tweet with adorable pictures of their own doggos, answering the challenge in a heartbeat, to the point that the original challenger conceded and said that they were wrong, that there are so many super sweet doggos, that the whole thread has melted their cold heart, and that they love (hate) everyone who participated.

Honestly, the real winners of the competition are us, getting look at all these most adorable good bois. Going through this thread had us losing it over the cuteness, going like: "oh, he's the cutest- no, she's the cutest- no, he's the cutest- no, she's-"

Alaska's Annual 'Fat Bear Week' Competition Begins

Oh lawd, they comin'

Katmai National Park's annual competition of voting for your favorite chubby bear is back and voting has already begun! Which chubby cubby will win the title this year?

Every Fall, the 'Fat Bear Week' competition takes place and it's a celebration in which the online community compares photos of bears in Spring and those same bears all chubbed up and getting ready for hibernation! The difference between the photos is often very obvious. And while it's a fun competition to take part in, it's truly all about these amazing bears, their survival, and how we're learning from them.

For those who might consider this to be body shaming, it's actually all about body positivity. A bear needs to bulk up before winter, or else it won't survive. As the U.S. Department of the Interior says, "A fat bear is a healthy bear!" Bears can lose up to a third of their entire body fat as they hibernate.

You can vote for your favorite chubby cubby here! And follow Katmai National Park on Twitter for all the updates!

Former Clerk Shares Wholesome Story Of RBG & Fantasy Baseball 'Trash Talk'

It was a somber weekend for much of the United States after the news of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death broke on Friday. The 87 year old judge was a champion for women's rights, and had become somewhat of a cult figure in recent years. Many devotees shared somber, wordy, and often beautiful tributes to their hero, highlighting her accomplishments and struggles as a woman in politics. But it's a warm and silly Twitter thread from one of Ginsburg's former clerks, Scott Hershovitz, that really made us feel something.

The thread, which involves some "friendly" fantasy baseball competition, shows a side of RBG that's a little more personal than most. A quiet but feisty mischief that we assume only those closest to her were privy to witness. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Funny and sweet twitter thread from scott hershovitz about Ruth Bader Ginsburg and fantasy baseball | Scott Hershovitz @shershovitz Today happy RBG memory time talked her into talking trash OT06 clerks had fantasy baseball league. Some chambers had teams. Some individual clerks did. And Justice Alito wanted team himself, not his clerks. 1/11 | last week term Ginsburg clerks were matched against Alito's team. RBG on losing end lot term. Not this time destroyed him: 10-0.
