With winter coming to an end, they are back. Those annoying little creatures that make our life miserable during hot summer nights.
But besides being annoying, they are also kinda funny. Hope you will agree with us.
August 20th is the world mosquito day and even though many of us don't really understand why we should celebrate the existence of these annoying creatures, the day is usually dedicated to raising awareness about the causes of malaria and how it can be prevented, as well as fundraising for research into the cure of malaria. We have chosen to "celebrate" the day with the thing we love most- some funny memes. Enjoy!
The drama of Lord of the Rings has always lent itself well to dank memery, and we're happy to report that this format featuring the villainous Saruman is making a bit of a comeback on Reddit. The scene being used is from The Fellowship Of The Ring, a moment in which Saruman offers Gandalf a choice between joining him or dying. Gandalf refuses to help Saruman, who remarks "So you have chosen death." The foreboding line is generally being used in much lighter contexts - think family quibbles and "things i don't like" style memes. They're pretty good, and we're happy to see the format is alive and well.
Is it safe to say that we're all really sick of winter? We're kind of over the cold, rainy bullsh*t that makes up the month of March every year. While we all patiently wait for the snow to melt and the temperatures to slowly creep up, we hope you can appreciate these spring memes to tide you over at least for a little while! Now let's bring on allergy season!
Falkirk Outdoors education officer/photographer Craig McLaren had an encounter with a mindfuck of biting midges in the Cairngorm mountains in the eastern Highlands of Scotland:
Thankfully, Google and the National Parks Service today offered up free 360-degree tours of the National Parks. Coincidence, I think not.
I'm staying indoors after that shit.
