24 Dank Memes That Challenge The Notion That Video Games Cause Violence

While the nation mourns the lives lost in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, politicians and the media continue to find ways to insist that guns don't kill people, video games do. President Trump jumped on the bandwagon during his national address yesterday, condemning the "glorification of violence in our society. This includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace." The sentiment is frankly outrageous, and has zero evidence to back it. The inevitable backlash began on Twitter, with the #VideoGamesAreNotToBlame hashtag, and quickly grew to include memers in the r/dankmemes community. As of yesterday, the informative memes (some include graphs) have been hovering at the top of the page. Here are our favorites.

This trolling session goes from 0 to 100 extremely quickly, and while we had a good laugh, we just hope the person who posted the ad found a cute cuddly cat to call their own.

Uncle Gets Forced into Showing His Egocentric Brother's Kid Extreme Cartoon Violence

That's kind of what uncles are for, right? When this guy wasn't paying attention to what his own kid was watching, and got a warning from the uncle, he said "just do it" and the rest is history. It's just a shame that the kids got the worst end of the stick here. Here's a link to Scientifically Accurate Barney by the way.

17 Fresh Memes That Roast The Complete Idiocy Of Blaming Violence On Video Games

We've already recently covered this topic, but honestly the memes have been so good that we felt like we had to bring you even more of them.

We certainly don't want to get too deep into the politics of exactly what causes gun violence in America in light of recent tragedies, but one thing seems to be certain here: both gamers and non-gamers alike on both sides of the political spectrum are coming together to reject the idea that video games are what cause it.

So here are 17 brand new, freshly baked memes that roast the (lack of) logic that video games are the violent culprit!
