Mama Hen Recruits Barn Cat as Babysitter, Cat Curls Up on Eggs and Keeps Them Warm for Her

Hey, being a mom is not an easy job for any species, even chickens. Recently, Our Lucky Farm Life on TikTok posted a video of their cat taking on another job other than barn cat. The farmer caught the kitty helping out her hen friend. 

The farmer walked into the barn and saw the mama hen clucking around taking a little “me” time. She also saw the cat curled up near by, but was a little confused when she couldn't find the mama hen's eggs. However, she quickly realized that the eggs were totally safe and being kept warm by their kitty cat babysitter.

The cat seems to be besties with all the animals on the farm. The posted another video before of the cat hanging out with a horse. This cat seems like the friend in the group who is just chill with everyone and never has any beef. This satisfied and sweet little kitty not only helps keep the vermin like mice, voles, and moles out of the barn and out of their supplies, but she also does so much more, like babysit for the hen.

Even mama chickens need time to relax and do their own thing. Mama hens need spa days where they get a little bath and soak their cute lil claw footies in some water. It's a lot of work laying some eggs and then having to keep them warm enough to survive, thrive, and then hatch. Cats in the wild would usually see some unattended eggs and take that as a chance to feast. But not this busy lil barn kitty. This cat takes her job very seriously. She's nicely curled up on this beautiful batch of eggs and the mama hen seems to be perfectly comfortable with that. 

Have you ever had a cat curl up on you? They are SO warm and soft and gentle. This cat is definitely helping out this mama chicken. She's gotta stretch a little and eat some feed of her own, ya know?
