He thought he was saving one cat, but got a baker's dozen…
Robert Brantley is just your average working American who likes cats just as much as the next person. Nowhere does he self-proclaim to be a cat person, but his wife has been asking about adopting a cat. So one day while he was driving home from work he noticed a tiny kitten abandoned on the side of the road. Like any good samaritan he decided to rescue the kitten and bring it home. He already knows his wife would be happy about it, so it felt like fate.
Little did he know, fate had MUCH bigger plans for him and his cat life…
After pulling over, the one kitten he spotted instantly came up to him meowing like he was so happy to see him. Brantley picked him up and started making a video showing where the kitten crawled out from and how heartless it is for a human to leave an innocent little kitten to fend for its own in the wild. However, when he panned his camera to point towards the grass where the single kitten came from, all of a sudden another kitten popped out running towards him meowing, and then another, and another, and another…
With each new kitten added to the rescue mission the more shocked Brantley got. “Oh my gosh... OH my… OH MY GOSH!” He said he couldn't take them all home, but he also didn't have the heart to leave them all there. So, Brantley ended up bringing 13 kittens back home. He posted his adventure on Facebook and it went instantly viral. Though his updates seem like he still currently has the kittens, he also is asking if anyone would like to adopt. 13 kittens are a lot to handle, plus, Brantley has a couple of young human pups himself. So, it's just a full house of baby creatures right now—optimal cuteness, but also a lot of work.
His Facebook post has been shared all over the Internet, even finding its way to TikTok. He's gotten over 10k comments on the original post with people finding the entire situation hilarious, others commending him for still rescuing all of them, and others interested in adopting or trying to help to get them adopted. His wife seems to be excited so far with the kitten surprise, sharing videos of the kittens and her own babies playing with each other. They're truly living the most adorable life right now.
