Abandoned Baby Bird Gets Brought Back From Starvation and Taught To Fly Again

Springtime brings along the beauty of nature, reignited by sunshine, flowers, and new life. The birds are chirping, bees are buzzing, and baby animals start popping up everywhere. And who doesn’t love baby animals, right? They’re irresistibly cute, with their disproportionate limbs, tiny voices, and beady, innocent eyes.

Unfortunately though, with nature being Nature, oftentimes these baby animals miss a chance at a long fulfilled life because of the brutality of the environment, human tampering, and threats of starvation. A baby animal’s early life is often the most difficult survival challenge that they’ll ever face.

For Emina Jakupovic, a lifestyle TikToker in Scottsdale, just recently found out exactly how difficult it is to defy the Reaper’s hand in natural affairs. She stumbled upon a bald, shriveled, and trembling baby bird on her doorstep that had fallen from its nest and was abandoned by its mother. As any empath would, she plucked up the baby bird and took it upon herself to rescue it and guide the bird to adulthood.

I named her Lucky

Through extensive research and constant attentiveness, Emina showed the progress of her tiny wrinkled friend as her eyes opened, she sprouted feathers, and eventually grew into a tiny puff ball that could fit in the palm of your hand.

Despite the astonishing results, it’s not very often that bird rehabilitation is so successful. Emina showed us that through extensive research and diligent hourly feedings, paired with a perfect incubation environment, you can prolong and improve the life of a baby bird that was abandoned. It’s basically everyone’s childhood dream.

Emina received some negative kickback from her followers in the comments, with people saying she was damning the bird to a life of dependency or the pure naturalists who thought that stealing a bird from its environment (regardless of good intentions) was wrong. Either way, Emina saved the life of a bird who otherwise would have died, so prolonging its natural life seems to be the right call here. Maybe the bird won't live the same sort of life that it might have, but it'll certainly be loved, cherished, and will never go hungry again.

We can only hope that Emina’s baby bird grew up to it’s fully fledged self. Although Lucky may never be strong enough to endure the wilderness again, Emina has built a beautiful bird cage, allowing Lucky to be pampered and loved for the rest of her days and that makes her one lucky bird.

Almost time to fly
