Paralyzed Pup That Was Once an Agility Champ Warms the Hearts of Millions After Excitedly Running the Course Once Again

The beloved border collie named Zip was a champion agility dog. She got her name from her speed on the course. She would hop over the bar jumps like it was no problem. She would whiz through the weave poles like she was birthed doing just that. So it was even more tragic when that was all ripped away from her one fateful day.

The tragic day started as any other. Zip was having fun with her human children and playing fetch outside. All of a sudden, a reckless driver came out of nowhere and hit Zip. The driver sped away from the hit and run and left the poor pup badly injured. She was lucky to have survived, but she did suffer injuries that left her paralyzed. The agility dog was never able to do the thing she loved again. Or was she?!

Her family still took her to the agility competitions to watch her brother compete and they could still see how excited she would get when she watched the dogs compete. It was obvious she still had the spirit of an agility champ inside her and was never going to give that up. After a chat with the people who run the competition, they allowed a special run for Zip after her brother was done competing.

“GO ZIP!!”

The second Zip sets foot on the course you can see how excited she gets. The emotions are obviously running high for her mom, because she thought she would never be back there with her. Zip did more than good, she did amazing! She ran through the course with the most passion and excitement of any dog doing, maybe even more so! She still jumped at the spots she was used to jumping, even though the jumping bars were removed so her wheelchair could go through. At the end she looks so extremely happy that it will make you cry.

Zip's Introduction

“Zip was fetching sticks with the children when she became the victim of a hit and run, reckless speeder. Her very active lifestyle came to a halt when she suffered a dislocated spine and multiple pelvic whips[?]. We are grateful to still have her with us. Although the accident challenged her physically, she remains the same wonderful girl in her heart and spirit. She is still the boss. Still loves her mama. And she still loves agility. This is Zip!”

Viewers are obsessed with the footage of Zip getting back to doing what she loves. One person even said, “This has inspired me to continue life and the pursuit of happiness despite my disability. I’m being genuine, Zip maybe just saved me.” Another person related, saying “Started crying before she even started 😭 I have an old guy that loves agility but can’t do it anymore, still loves to do a tunnel and low jump here and there. You really do see them light up đŸ„ș."  Thank you Zip for your inspiration and your beautiful passionate spirit!
