Selfish Man Shames Pregnant Wife For Being 'Lazy' For Being Pregnant

The OP in this story is shocked by her husband's suddenly verbally abusive behavior. They have been together for five years and were trying for a baby. Now OP is pregnant. They should be celebrating, right? Well that's what OP thought they were going to do. Instead, the husband decided to air out his grievances. He let OP know that her pregnant state isn't an excuse for laziness around the house. OP was already in bed, not feeling well and politely asked if he could turn off all the lights in the house before bed. He responded in a harsh tone. He said, "Just because you are pregnant does not mean anything will change" and "You are still expected to cook, clean, and do all the chores every day because how can you be expected to be a mother if you can't handle a little work." OP was immediately taken a back and hurt. He had never spoken like that to her before. He also got defensive and said he 'works his ass of at his job' to provide for her and asked what is going to be their future children? He ended by saying that it didn't matter how she feels physically or mentally because it is a mothers job to push through. If he 'helped and babied her than she wouldn't be a good mother.' The moral judges of Reddit have a clear take on this one.

    This title alone is a little cryptic. Just wait until you dive into the deets. Everything changes during pregnancy. Your body always feels swollen and your hormones are out of wack. We will never understand how men can say such outrageous things like "nothing will change,' as a result of pregnancy. We'd love to see them give it a try and then they can give a woman such advice.
