Wholesome Dog Memes My Dad Who Fell In Love With Our New Puppy Sent Me This Week

One kind of animal adoption story that we see much more often than logically makes sense is that of the "dad who didn't want a puppy falling in love with the puppy". It's basically a staple in the animal community at this point. For some reason, dads just keep pretending that they don't want pets, and before you know it, said dads fall in love with those pets they didn't want. And guess who just got to experience one of these moments for herself - yours truly.

We have been fighting with our dad about getting a puppy for forever now. "You won't walk it, the responsibility will fall on me and mom," he said. "It'll shed everywhere," he added. "I'm allergic, I think," he's not. And then… not a month has passed, and he is nothing but whipped. He's so whipped for the puppy that, this week, our family group chat has been flooded with wholesome dog memes that he's sending. It's basically the only thing he sends there. And every time he does, all of us smile - at home and at the ICanHas workplace. So, it was only right to let you guys see these memes as well.

It all started with this one - completely out of nowhere, interspersed between about 253 dog pics sent by him. And we knew, from that moment on, that something has changed. Dad has accepted his fate, pawstivity and wholesomeness were in the air, and we prepared ourselves for the barrage of feels.

This was the second one we got, and the self-awareness in it had me sending it off to the rest of the ICanHas writers just about instantly. Not entirely accurate though, it took sixteen days since the adoption for this meme to be sent rather than fourteen, but still - you feelin' wholesome yet? Because we did.
