Breakups happen for all kinds of reasons- sometimes they cheat, sometimes they want different things, and sometimes they're smelly and you can't stand it. A breakup is almost always a hard thing to go through. However, in the long term, one beautiful thing about breakups is the chance to better understand yourself. You are forced to confront your feelings, and this can result in some great discoveries about yourself. You may realize that you need someone who can offer you more or that you need to work on yourself before rushing into another relationship. Whatever it is, this can be the bright side of breakups. Usually right after a breakup, my mantra is "F--- him". But, the slightly more mature side of me knows that relationships will continue to fail if you don't learn from breakups.
In this slightly more serious Reddit post, OP asks people what the most important things they've learned from their breakups are. What are the most important things you've learned? How have you changed?
Very well said.
