Yes, we are aware that people in High Tech make ridiculous amounts of money. Personally, I kind of gawked at the number that was blaring in big black letters in front of my eyes as I read the post that was on the AITA sub. 300K? What the actual ****? Who makes that kind of money!? People working in High Tech, my friends. They also tend to work a lot less than your average customer service employee and get way more benefits. We can understand that it's not always easy to ignore the unfairness in life.
And to hear that your brother's fiancé makes that amount of money, while you yourself are pregnant, single, and broke… is not an easy feat. But a harsh reality is that life isn't fair. Furthermore, if you know someone who is making that amount of money, congratulate them. Don't be an AH. Just because you're having a hard time doesn't mean you have to make others feel bad for working hard to get where they are.
