'I call the tow company — they can't do anything': Party-goers infuriated by icy surprise after loud late-night party

One neighbor got so fed up with parking issues that he took a strategic approach that no one would ever forget. This person wrote that the story took place around 20 years ago, at a time when he lived in an apartment building with parking space for 16 cars. However, the OP, u/BrightRick, noticed that all of the sudden random strangers were taking up all this parking. 

The OP tried to get these cars moved through all the usual channels. They talked with police, who said there was nothing to be done. Then, the OP called a tow company and had them place signs all over warning people that the lot was private. That did work… but only for a while. 

During a New Year's Eve party, the OP finally got some icy revenge on these mystery parkers! Commenters were loving this guy's meticulous approach to problem solving. It's certainly outside of the box, but this would be an unforgettable ordeal for any driver to go through. 

Next, this intern got some incredibly satisfying revenge on this company who fired him.

    Font - Then cars started appearing in our parking lot that were not our tenants. I blocked one in one day. Went outside to see this A-hole drove through our bushes and across the yard to get out. I called the cops - nothing they could do. So I called a tow company and had them put up signs. We'd have to call them to have a car towed - the signs seemed to work. No more random cars.

    Font - Until New Years eve one year. I arrive home and every space is filled. There are even cars on the street blocking in the other cars. I'm beyond ped.     Font - Every car, every square inch of the parking lot, the street by the cars, encased in ice. I made it a point to spray ice IN the locks, between the window seals and glass. In the grills. Put away the sprinklers and hoses, went to bed. 4am, furious pounding on the doors, doorbells ringing non-stop. We just smiled and called the cops. Waited until they arrived and went outside.

    Font - Cops were holding back laughter. These people were told to park here by their "friend" who owned an apartment several buildings away. The same idiot who drove over our bushes. I pointed to the tow sign and told the people to move their cars or get towed. In our town cops can ticket on private property with the owner's permission. So all cars were ticketed. They were also towed, since nobody could get in their vehicle. Wish we had it on video.

    Font - cat_romance I just assumed they were ringing all the bells to the apartments with the parking lot. But now I'm wondering why so many people planned to drive home after a looooong night of drinking until 4am. He honestly probably did them a favor.

    Font - eeLSDee If you don't understand the pain of a frozen car it truly is a nightmare. You either have to wait days for it to melt or spend $30 on a case of deicer. The way OP iced these cars though it may have taken a solid week to deice those cars.

    Font - cadmium2093 This might be my favorite pro- revenge story I've read in a while. God d. I've had my car frozen shut (from living in a very cold place but also too poor to have a garage, not from me being an entitled person). It would have taken them forever to thaw their cars, and I doubt they live in a place that sells chemical de-icers. You hero of a savage. Well. Done.

I was told by a friend in an apartment complex that I could park inside without a sticker since it would only be for a few minutes, but I came outside and it had been towed.     Font - mouth. It is what it is. I saw the signs and had a feeling but it was convenient in the moment to park closer than to park outside the gate and walk a few blocks. It was my own fault. Just as it was those own people's fault. Personally I would have called the non emergency police line and request an officer to come cite them with tickets but honestly, they did what was within their rights and now people know.

    Font - Greenobsession_ Right?!?!! Like how is it that because they were told by someone who lives BLOCKS away from this area and there is signs saying NO PARKING it's "not their fault". It is their fault for ignoring signs that state no parking. Doesn't matter if someone said so unless that someone is the owner of those no parking signs and I guarantee majority of the time that owner is not someone who is blocks away. Maybe the NO PARKING signs that literally tell them they'd be towed. And people also complaining that you blocked someone in that was literally on your property, it sounds like they've been blocked in before to think you shouldn't have done that.
