There's no denying it. Social media has changed the way people view (and consume) food. Gone are the days when food was just a necessary part of life, something we ate to survive. These days, food has become a trendy affair, with people constantly seeking out the latest and greatest food trends to share on their Instagram pages. This obsession with food has come spawned some truly cringey and unnecessary food creations, posts, and videos. From bizarre and offensive food combinations to questionable and unappetizing cooking techniques, it seems like there's no limit to the ridiculous things people will do in the name of food and/or social media. Unfortunately for our discerning palates, we're seeing these crimes against food pop up all the time on our feeds.
While this doesn't bode well for our appetites (or our eyes), it does mean we've got a pretty endless supply of cringey food gone terribly, terribly wrong.
