RuPaul's Drag Race Recap: 50/50s Most Gagworthy Stars

This week's episode started off with the queens saying goodbye to the beloved TikTok legend Spice. I agree with Mistress that it was Spice's time to go, but I'm so glad she was able to stay in the competition so long through charisma and canned bits alone!

The queens move over to the couch, and Loosey is ANGRY that she's getting teased by the other queens for being peeved that she's always safe. This girl is getting a Jan edit whether she wants to or not! Loosey claims that she's won three challenges (two minis and a maxi) and that she deserves more respect from her other contestants. Everybody who has watched drag race knows that mini-challenges don't count; Loosey clearly hasn't been cured of her case of drag delusion.

The next day, the queens come in ready to get their challenge, and Luxx is living her best life, rocking a towel on her head. She is the Gen Z Laganja Estranga, and nobody can tell me otherwise.

RuPaul delivers their challenge, which is to conduct one on one interviews for TV's sketchiest news magazine, 50/50. Luxx, Salina, and Mistress are assigned to interview drag legend Love Connie; Sasha and Marcia must interview singer, actress, and icon Charo; Loosey, Malaysia, and Anerta have Frankie Grande. No comment.

This is one of those classic “improv” challenges that are not really improv. The queens get a chance to prepare for their interviews, but there is no formal script. The contestant must rely on the mercy of her partner, having fun while also keeping them on track. Mistress is nervous for Marcia because she thinks she won't be able to match Charo's energy.

Moving on to the challenge, the girls perform their interviews live in only one take. First, we have Team Love Connie. Connie is one wild drag queen. Salina is unable to keep up with her wild and crazy stories during their sit-down interview. She sits there looking confused and perplexed. Luxx takes a ride on Connie's golf cart, which goes surprisingly well for such a life-threatening situation!

Finally, we've got Mistress, icing cupcakes with Love Connie. It's so weird watching Mistress fumble like this! She has not been on the bottom yet, and this was the first time we've actually seen her struggle with a challenge. We hate to see it.

Next, we've got Marcia and Sasha interviewing Charo. You can see in Marcia's eyes that she struggles to understand this diva during the sit-down interview. Sasha, on the other hand, thrives during the cooking segment. This girl is a natural at hosting, listening, and interviewing. After that, we've got the silly little Frankie Grande interviews. Loosey is giving Diane Sawyer, Malaysia is giving confused, and Anertra is giving very little.

Before the runway, Sasha shares an anecdote that she might've inspired the name Sasha Fierce. What a way to get the ball rolling for the runway category, “Night of a Thousand Beyoncés”

Speaking of that, the runway was a little disappointing! For a category as fierce as “Night of a Thousand Beyoncés,” you'd think we'd have some more iconic Beyoncé looks! My guess is that the queens were either scared to do an iconic look that another queen might've done, or they weren't allowed to do anything from a Beyoncé music video. Luxx, Mistress, and Sasha were definitely the highlights of the runway.

Luxx, Loosey, and Luxx are the tops of the challenge, with Sasha ultimately taking home the final prize. If it were me, I would've chosen Luxx, but I'm unfortunately not RuPaul Charles. Mistress, Malaysia, and Salina are the bottoms, with Malaysia and Salina having to lipsync for their lives.

Salina is on her way to becoming one of the most successful lipsync assassins of all time. As one astute viewer puts it:

With that, we had to say farewell to our queen Malaysia Babydoll Foxx. Gone but not forgotten! 7 queens remain: who do YOU think will take home the title of America's Next Drag Superstar?
