I've been hearing about "The Bear" ever since the series began streaming on Hulu a few years back. Everything from the show is a faithful recreation of what it's like to work in the restaurant industry to the weird part of the fandom thirsting over its main character. I kind of put it in the back of my head, but never made an effort to watch it. Sure, Jeremy Allen White was one of the good parts of the otherwise grating melodrama, "Shameless," but I had bigger fish to fry with every other prestige television show on the air. But now there's a "Succession" sized whole in my life and Twitter won't shut up about the second season, so I finally gave it a shot. I'm very glad it showed up on my social media feed.
It's pretty good! I'm not quite caught up, but pretty much everything I've heard rings at least slightly accurate. Not the greatest thing ever, but it's pretty dang good. Most of Twitter's chatter about its quality is pretty warranted. So why don't we see what people have been saying? Spoiler warning if you haven't seen the show quite yet, but from what I understand I was one of the last people on that boat.
