Hopefully, somewhere before the time you move out to go to university or strike out on your own, you'll have gotten this down and will understand that your dishes aren't magically stacked, washed, dried, and put away for you. Unfortunately, it's highly likely that you'll end up living with someone who still hasn't figured this out. Their lack of contribution and pliability for taking up the task will be a constant source of stress and frustration for you as you, like your parents, futilely try to get them to take up the task.
This will echo through the rest of your life through various roommate scenarios, office dish confrontations with coworkers, and especially with romantic partners and your spouse. At the end of the day, everything will come back to the dishes.
It was no different for this worker, who, when they started their new job was informed that they needed to wash their own dishes, by the person whose singular responsibility was to wash the dishes. Now, I'm of the belief—if you can't already tell—that one should be responsible for their own dishes, no matter their rank or seniority. However, when someone's only job is to do the dishes and they make a point of being miserable to others and lie and gaslight about the reality of the situation, they deserve whatever is coming to them.
