29 Baffling Design Choices Found in the Wild (March 17, 2024)
As the old adage goes, "Graphic design is my passion." Graphic design is so incredibly important to our experience of the world that it's crazy to think about. Every decision we make at the grocery store, every time we look at our phones, open a website, or walk down the street, the work of graphic designers is all around us. If we think we're not influenced by it, that's a lie we tell ourselves. You unconsciously make decisions based on design all the time. Yeah, you might like that oat milk brand for the way it tastes, but you like it partly because something in the design language makes you feel safe.
All to say, hats off to the hard-working folks whose job it is to make everything we see. But not all of you are winning at your jobs. That's where this list comes in. But if they're not pleasing, at least they're entertaining.
