‘[My] stepson would be inheriting’: Father feels betrayed after he finds out his kids knew about their mother's affair and cuts them out of his will, the internet disapproves
When a spouse is unfaithful, it is always a painful and difficult time. What do you do? Usually, if you catch them, you leave them. Infidelity is not an easy thing to bounce back from. What is love without trust? What if you have kids? Would you ignore the cheating for the sake of the children? What if your children were grown adults? There are so many unique situations that could go down.
In this case, Redditors did not like how the father reacted. His grown kids were pinned against him by his now ex-wife who was having an affair. The kids found out early on that she was doing this, but she begged them not to tell him. The daughter eventually confessed this to her father years after the divorce and him getting remarried. Instead of him being an understanding father and looking at her as his daughter, he treated the situation as if she were a college buddy who betrayed him. He got so upset, he cut her and her brother out of his will and told them he was leaving everything to his new stepson.
He left his biological kids heartbroken and the internet does not seem to approve of his fathering. It doesn't matter how old your kids are, they are still just your kids.
