One thing that often annoys me about myself is that I have a tendency to ramble. In my head, I know that what I want to say can be said in five words but somehow, I can't do it in less than fifteen. At least when I'm typing a text I can re-read it and edit it down before I send it across to someone. The great thing about memes is that most of the time, they value brevity (or at least, most of the ones that get successful do). They are all about getting across occasionally complicated concepts and tangled webs of references in comparatively few words, and that is part of the reason that so many people love them. In a way, every random list that mashes together memes of all stripes is a kind of celebration of this. It's party time, and all the pithy jokes and amusing visuals are invited.
