We all know the infamous stereotypes and jokes about fathers. You could message your dad that you're bleeding internally and we would all expect the thumbs up emoji in response. Or maybe you're visiting a new place but your father just walks around cryptically with his hands behind his back examining the structural integrity of everything around him. And who could forget about when he becomes mesmerized by the neighbor watering his own lawn. Dads are funny and iconic creatures in and of themselves.

In the 90s, fathers made a name for themselves on screen as the ultimate sitcom father. The guy who's just a normal guy, who has the wife, the kids, and the white picket fence. There's nothing especially interesting about his life, and he gets all his evil thoughts and feelings out of himself by simply cracking non funny dad jokes.

In the story below, it centers around a particular father. This one isn't the cutesy and wholesome character we're used to seeing on television. This man is actually rude and demeaning to his family, and his wife especially. That is until his teenage daughter puts him in his place.

One of my pet peeves is when someone says they're “joking” as a means to say whatever they want without consequences. When someone makes an actual joke, first of all people will laugh. Second of all, the person doesn't need to establish to everyone that they've made a joke in the first place.
