27-year-old man leaves his gabby girlfriend stranded at wedding after she tells the bride he used to be in love with her in college: "I thought she deserved to know the history"

Up until I was around 25 years old and my prefrontal cortex was fully developed, I was always having crushes. The crushes were always fleeting and almost always dissipated eventually, but I loved the brief pining, yearning, butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling; it was completely thrilling! I had crushes on celebrities, classmates, and even teachers, but since these small bouts of romantic mania were fueled mostly by fantasy, the bubble always burst when I got to know them better. Thankfully, I calmed down a whole lot by the time I got to college – although I still had my fair share of little crushes here and there.

In our story today, a young man attends the wedding of a previous crush. At this point, they're just normal friends, and the brief flirtation that they had almost a decade ago never meant much to either of them. However, our protagonist's girlfriend blows the whole thing way out of proportion, starting drama on the worst day possible.

Not only did she blow our protagonist's crush out of proportion, but she also vaguely threatened the bride. Maybe it was a joke, but she was really put off by that enough to change her demeanor around our protagonist.
