One man worried about this after his sister informed him that she did not want his wife to join him at her wedding, where he was the man of honor. He had a close relationship with his sibling, and she wanted her sister-in-law to learn a lesson after she had attended her best friend's wedding without him two years ago, due to one of his exes being a part of the bridal party.
As the couple had discussed the previous wedding and mutually agreed that he wouldn't attend, he felt it was unfair to his wife for her to be excluded with no say in the matter. That said, he still really wanted to be there when his sister was married. He looked for an outside opinion.

Despite their supposed purpose as a day to celebrate the love of two people, weddings can be known to bring out the worst in people. There is just something about spending a heck of a lot of money on a day that is all about you (and your partner) that makes some go a little crazy. Add any family or friendship difficulties into the mix, too, and the big day gets even more complicated. There is a lot that can go wrong.
It is never pleasant to feel like you are caught up in the middle of wedding drama without having a say in the matter, especially if you happen to be close to the bride or groom. However, that is exactly what makes somebody more likely to get swept up in the madness and petty fights. If you can get out of such a situation without majorly upsetting or offending anyone, you have achieved something more major than you may realize.
