If you've ended up on this page filled with 80s memes, you're likely a child from the latchkey generation. You remember a time before the internet took over everything. Back then, memes were just the funniest lines from TV that you'd repeat at school or the daily comics at the back of your dad's newspaper. Instead of putting on your AirPods to listen to your massive Spotify playlist with over 500 songs from different genres, you used to have to be more choosy about which full album you wanted to listen to. That, or you could spend hours crafting the perfect mixtape to put in your Walkman. If you wanted to feel the smug satisfaction of being right about something mid-argument, you couldn't just pull our your phone and ask ChatGPT the answer; you had to go to a library to find evidence to back up your claims. 
Sure, things were not nearly as convenient back then, but somehow, they felt easier and simpler. Perhaps Gen X is just wearing rose-colored glasses when it comes to the 70s, 80s, and 90s, but I am not here to make thar claim.
